Deionte Thompson. 19. player. 35. . S. Tennessee Titans

The Titans face Andrew Luck and Deshaun Watson at least two times per season. The secondary had issues picking off passes last year with only 11 interceptions in 16 games.

Head coach Mike Vrabel knows the importance the secondary is for a defense and the Titans front office should select safety Deointe Thompson out of Alabama.

Thompson is a can’t miss prospect at the safety position and we could be looking at a top 10 player in college football that just gets bad luck of the draw with not a lot of teams needing a safety on Day one of the draft.

He has the ability to come up and close running lanes, while also dropping back into deep coverage while staying step for step with a team’s number one receiver. Last season he had 76 tackles with six passes broken up.

Thompson can also make please by forcing turnovers and he finished his career with three interceptions and three forced fumbles.

Tennessee could use somebody to slow down the weapons in the division and Thompson would be an excellent fit to be a defensive scheme based around Bill Belichick’s philosophies.
