TE. Detroit Lions. T.J. Hockenson. 8. player. 50.

The Lions have a huge need at tight end. The question is should they use the first round pick on a position that hasn’t been impactful In the offense during the Matthew Stafford era?

Before the start of the 2018 season, the Lions cut Eric Ebron and he was labeled a draft bust. After his double-digit touchdown season with Andrew Luck, it’s clear that he wasn’t the core reason for the Lions struggles at the position.

T.J. Hockenson hasn’t gotten as much praise as his teammate Noah Fant, but he has emerged as the better pro prospect between the two. That’s saying something since Fant has been a touchdown machine for the Hawkeyes.

Hockenson has the athletic ability to separate from linebackers and the strength to outmuscle corners and safeties in jump ball situations. He would be an excellent addition to the team if used properly but if the Lions decide to pass on him look for help in the secondary to be the main focus of the team.
