Ohio State Football: 5 incoming freshmen who’ll have instant impact in 2019
Are you really surprised that Zach Harrison is No. 1 on this list? You shouldn’t be. Zach Harrison was the prized recruit in Ohio State’s 2019 class and the Buckeyes had to fend off the pesky Michigan Wolverines for his services.
The major rivalry battle for Harrison ended in the Buckeyes’ favor, obviously, but Ohio State maybe needed him more than the Wolverines as Nick Bosa has departed for the NFL.
Ohio State does return Chase Young at the defensive end spot who filled in nicely for Bosa and who is on track to become the next great at the position, but Harrison is a guy who can come right in and compete for time and potentially split time at the other end spot.
What makes him more intriguing as a prospect is the fact that he’s an early enrollee and he’s going to be more than ready to prove himself this spring.
Harrison is the No. 12 player in the class and the second-best strong-side defensive end, per 247Sports. He’s also listed as the top recruit from the loaded state of Ohio. Remember his name as he will likely be an All-American candidate at end before his career is over.
