6-foot-5 Antoine Wesley has the height NFL teams love to utilize on the field. With that said, NFL teams won’t overlook his wire frame and questions about his speed. It’s widely believed that Wesley must add muscle to his current 185-pound build to stand up to the pummeling associated with being an NFL receiver. Teams will also closely monitor Wesley’s 40-yard dash result hoping he can surprise in the sprint.

No matter his combine results, Wesley will receive a chance at the next level thanks to his ample production during his final season at Texas Tech. As a junior, Wesley hulled in 1,410 yards and nine touchdowns for the Red Raiders and snagged an All-Big 12 First-Team honor, as well. By far Texas Tech’s most productive wideout, Wesley proved he could handle the burden of being a team’s top receiver over an entire season.

His upside is undeniable. Lance Zierlein of NFL.com described Wesley as having “the best combination of focus…coordination and hands of any wide receiver I’ve studied so far, and that would include every wide receiver going to the combine.” Putting to rest concerns about his speed and muscle mass at the combine could definitely vault Wesley to an earlier round come draft day.
