The David Sills-Will Grier tandem at West Virginia became one of the most potent receiver-quarterback connections in all of college football in 2017 and continued in 2018. Sills, a former quarterback prodigy turned receiver, was a touchdown machine in his final two seasons for the Mountaineers – finishing with 18 touchdowns in 2017 and 15 scores in 2018. His production netted him All-Big 12 First-Team honors in each of those seasons.

Standing at 6-foot-4, 210 pounds, Sills certainly has the measurements of a big-time receiver. Sills excels at high-pointing the football and has the ability to eat up even inaccurate passes thanks to his length.

Because he only transitioned to receiver a few years ago, however, Sills still has room to grow in his route running and technique. Speed and the ability to create separation is also a concern at the next level, but his capabilities to win 50-50 balls and dominate the red zone could erase some of his deficiencies. His college career proves he has the ability to improve and produce consistently.

Brad Kelley of The Draft Network compares Sills to former NFL receiver, Sidney Rice: “While Rice May (sic) have been a bit more explosive than Sills V, physical profile and play-style wise, there are plenty of similarities.”
