NFL Draft: Top 25 prospects from the Big 12
Bobby Evans helped anchor a dominant unit for the Oklahoma Sooners that won the Joe Moore Award for best offensive line in college football in 2018. The redshirt junior and member of the 2018 All-Big 12 Second-Team declared early for the NFL Draft and has the intangibles teams look for in a tackle – clocking in at 6-foot-4, 310 pounds.
Evans is both durable and versatile. Having started every game the past two seasons, Evans played both right and left tackle for the Sooners which will certainly draw the attention of the scouts. He is a “(s)mooth athlete in the open field,” per Kyle Crabbs of The Draft Network, and ranks as the seventh overall offensive tackle on Mel Kiper’s draft board.
His athleticism will draw the most interest from NFL teams and Evans has the opportunity to really shine at the combine where he can showcase his best attributes. Evans could easily rise higher than he currently stands after his consistent and solid play at Oklahoma last season, and especially if he performs well in front of the scouts in Indianapolis during the combine.
It’s expected that Evans will be selected sometime in the third or fourth round.
