2019 NFL Combine: 5 Takeaways from Day 1 of workouts
4. Garrett Bradbury, Chris Lindstrom, and Erik McCoy moving up
The trio of NC State’s Garrett Bradbury, Boston College’s Chris Lindstrom, and Texas A&M’s Erik McCoy were big winners among the interior offensive linemen competing in Indianapolis.
Bradbury looked like a fringe-first round prospect coming into the week and has now likely clinched his spot in the first 32 picks. Bradbury looked excellent during his on-field agility drills and finished third among offensive linemen with a 4.92 40-yard dash. His 34 reps on the bench press ranked him second in his position group, and he managed over 30-inches with his vertical jump.
Bradbury flew under the radar a bit at NC State, but he was one of college football’s top offensive linemen last year. He’s proved that at the combine, and he should hear his name called on the first day.
Lindstrom ran the second fastest 40-time with a 4.91 official. He also hit over 30-inches with his vertical, and looked fluid in all of his on-field drills. Lindstrom was a day-two selection coming into the week, and while it might be a stretch for him to end up in the first round, it wouldn’t be a surprise if someone nabs him late on day one. If not, look for him to be one of the first picks once the second round starts.
McCoy was the fastest linemen timed in the 40, running a blazing 4.89, which is just ridiculous for his size. He put up 29 reps on the bench press and also topped 30-inches in his vertical. McCoy is an impressive athlete who looks to have clinched his spot on day two of the draft.
