NFL Draft: Top 10 small school prospects
By John Scimeca
1. Nassir Adderley, FS, Delaware
This 5-foot-11 senior might be the most notable prospect coming from FCS ranks this spring. The Philadelphia native has played time at outside corner, nickel, and safety, and impressed coaches during practice drills at the Senior Bowl in Mobile, Ala. in January. Serving as one of the captains for the North team, he had an interception and five tackles in the contest. Also notable that day was Oakland head coach Jon Gruden slapping helmet stickers throughout the game on players who performed well. Adderley, without question, was an early recipient.
The Fighting Blue Hens finished 7-5 in the 2018 season, including an opening round loss to James Madison in the FCS Playoffs. Adderley’s stat line from the last two seasons — he was the only player in FCS to have at least 160 tackles and nine interceptions — make him an intriguing option for any NFL team that’s short in its defensive secondary.
