NFL Draft: Top 10 small school prospects
By John Scimeca
5. Bruce Anderson, RB, North Dakota State
This 5-foot-11 senior from Ruskin, Fla. leaves North Dakota State as a three-time national champion. He finished his career with the Bison with 486 carries for 2,896 yards (6.0 yards per rush) and 24 touchdowns. He added 32 receptions for 448 yards and seven touchdowns.
Over the past four years, the Bison have gone 54-5 and have routinely ranked in the top echelon of the FCS in offensive and defensive rankings. Anderson has displayed a notable lateral quickness in tight spaces as the tailback of the Bison offense. Though few predict him to become an NFL star, it’s reasonable to expect that he could join a cadre of backs immediately.
In North Dakota State’s first three postseason contests last season, Anderson rushed for a combined 300+ yards and four touchdowns while averaging over eight yards per carry in each contest.
