NFL Draft: Top 10 small school prospects
By John Scimeca
7. Deion Harris, CB, North Dakota
Harris, a Minnesota native, suffered an ACL injury during the preseason of what would have been his senior season in 2017. He redshirted the year instead and played 2018 as a senior for the Fighting Hawks. After playing as a high school quarterback, Harris came to North Dakota and helped win a Big Sky conference title in 2016, a season in which he had five interceptions.
Last year, the Fighting Hawks finished a disappointing 6-5 (4-4). In North Dakota’s only game against FBS competition last season, Harris and the rest of the defense was a non-factor in a 45-3 loss — including allowing over 400 yards through the air to the Huskies. In a 27-26 loss to Bowling Green in 2016, however, Harris came up with two interceptions.
Harris is listed as 6-foot-2 and 180 pounds and will look to shed the label of “injury risk” among scouts as NFL Draft preparations continue.
