45. . DE/DT. Michigan. Rashan Gary. 10. player

Rashan Gary tested extremely well at the combine, but never really put up the production that matched his athletic ability during his time in Ann Arbor. He managed just 9.5 sacks in 34 career games at Michigan.

He isn’t likely to be a difference maker off the edge, but Gary has the versatility to play across any scheme and at multiple positions on the defensive line. I think his best fit at the next level might be at defensive tackle, where he can leverage his strength and agility to be a real problem for interior offensive linemen in the NFL.

After trading for Joe Flacco, the Broncos could still potentially draft a quarterback with this pick to grab that player for the future to learn under Flacco for a couple of years. If the Giants pass on Haskins, specifically, John Elway and company will take a long hard look at the Buckeyes passer. They might be intrigued by Missouri’s Drew Lock, too, but I think they’d likely consider him a reach at this point in the draft.

The decision to trade for Flacco points to the Broncos looking to get back into AFC contention next season, though trusting Flacco to be much of an upgrade over Case Keenum might be foolish. I imagine with that decision they will be looking to grab somebody with the No. 10 pick who could contribute to the cause of competing in 2019.

Gary would be the best player available on many draft boards at this point, but Denver might covet a young cornerback more, which could put LSU’s Greedy Williams or Washington’s Byron Murphy in play with this pick.
