. Quarterback. Ohio State. Dwayne Haskins. 6. player. 31

The New York Giants finally find their quarterback of the future with the fifth overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft: Ohio State’s Dwayne Haskins. Unfortunately, he won’t have Odell Beckham, Jr. to throw the ball to, but what are you going to do as a franchise, keep a 26-year-old wide receiver in his prime?

Haskins will, however, join former Big Ten standout Saquon Barkley in the Giants’ backfield. This one-two punch could be lethal for years to come in an NFC East that’s always up for grabs.

Even with only 14 career starts, Haskins’ play in 2018 catapulted him up draft boards. He threw for nearly 5,000 yards and 50 touchdowns while leading the Buckeyes to a 13-1 record, including a Big Ten Championship and a Rose Bowl win; Haskins also finished third in the Heisman Trophy voting.

Unsurprisingly, another Buckeye was drafted in the first round by the Giants within the past few years – cornerback Eli Apple. The Giants made him the No. 10 overall pick in the 2016 NFL Draft.
