Christian Wilkins. 26. player. 46. . DT. Clemson

The Colts would likely be thrilled to see Clemson’s Christian Wilkins on the board here. Indianapolis has been looking for that run-stuffing 3-technique defensive tackle who fits their 4-3 defensive scheme that they switched to last season. Luckily, this class is flush with talented defensive tackles, and they’re likely to find a quality player like Wilkins still on the board late in the first round.

Wilkins might not have the ceiling as the top defensive tackles in this class like Williams and Oliver, but he’s as pro ready as either of them. With his skill-set, it’s hard to imagine his floor being any lower than a solid starting defensive tackle.

He plays with a relentless motor and knows how to leverage his size and strength to his advantage. He’s tough to keep out of the backfield, and while he’s probably never going to impact the game as a pass rusher, he’s an elite run stopper who should be able to immediately improve the Colts’s run defense from day one.

His locker room leadership is also an invaluable trait that will immediately pay dividends for whichever team chooses him on draft day.

Indy reportedly had some interest in Landon Collins, but his price tag was too high. That could mean a safety would be appealing here. Adding another wide receiver, one who could compliment T.Y. Hilton, also makes a lot of sense.
