Game of Thrones characters as College Football programs and figures
Bran Stark
Born Brandon Stark of Winterfell, Isaac Hempstead-Wright’s character has undergone a massive transformation over the years. Once a high-born and Lord of Winterfell in his brother’s stead, Bran has always been one of the most important characters on the show.
In the very first episode, he is shoved out of a window after catching Jaime and Cersei in bed, setting off a chain-reaction that started the War of the Five Kings. Bran fell off the radar for a while after being forced to abandon his home and birthright, but his purpose was for something much greater.
He’s now the three-eyed raven, blessed with the ability to see the past and potentially alter the present/future from it. Bran has a feeling of superiority over the other characters on the show, with a dismissive, holier-than-thou attitude. He might not always be the most interesting character, and he’s almost no one’s favorite, but it would be impossible to speak of the history of the show without discussing his impact.
Bran is Notre Dame. The Irish were once one of college football’s greatest dynasties, but fell off significantly for a number of years before battling back toward the top. They’re still not at the mountaintop, and they might not ever get there again, but it would be impossible to discuss the history of the sport without a big section dedicated to Notre Dame.
Despite constant slip-ups, they have the same superiority mindset as Bran. It wouldn’t be a surprise to see them sit on the throne, and it wouldn’t be a surprise to see them burn it all to the ground.
Both are also in constant danger of finding themselves stuck in the past.
