NFL Draft 2019: 7-Round Mock Draft projections for every team

The Giants acquired this pick from the Browns in the Odell Beckham trade. What happens with this pick will largely depend on what New York does with the No. 6 pick. If they hold out for Duke’s Daniel Jones until here, then they might look at addressing their need for an offensive linemen with the No. 6 pick by selecting Florida’s Jawaan Taylor.
They might also target an edge rusher with either first round pick to try and replace Olivier Vernon, a player they also traded to the Browns a few weeks prior to the blockbuster Beckham deal. With the way the offseason has gone in the Big Apple, it’s impossible to get a feel for what this franchise might do on Thursday night.
Grabbing a quarterback early usually leads to a team shifting their focus to shoring up their protection up front. With Haskins in tow, the Giants would have the opportunity here to take the player who is probably the draft’s top pass blocker.
Dillard has some technical things he needs to clean up, and like Haskins might benefit from a redshirt year as he learns the ins and outs of run blocking coming out of an air-raid system in college. That shouldn’t turn away a team like the Giants, though, because they aren’t all that close to contending and will likely end up with another high draft choice in 2020 regardless of how this three day process goes.
Oklahoma’s Cody Ford could make a lot of sense here, too, with his versatility and dominance as a run blocker, which would be appealing as the Giants build an offense around Saquon Barkley.
