Florida. Jawaan Taylor. 7. player. 52. . OT

There’s a number of ways the Jaguars could go with this pick as they look to solidify their roster and bounce back after an extremely disappointing 2018 season. Jacksonville fell to the cellar of the AFC South a year removed from a near Super Bowl appearance.

The team moved on from Blake Bortles, a move that delighted the Duval faithful. They made a big free agency splash by signing former Eagles Super Bowl MVP Nick Foles to pilot the offense. With Foles in tow, they are likely to prioritize improving the weapons around him and fortifying the offensive line.

It would probably be a reach to take a receiver or tight end with this pick, regardless of the talent players like T.J. Hockenson and D.K. Metcalf bestow. Instead, they could look at trading back a few picks or they could go with an offensive lineman.

Florida’s Jawaan Taylor seems to be the consensus top offensive lineman in this class now. He’s one of the only sure-fire tackle prospects among the likely first round picks, which gives him a boost over Alabama’s Jonah Williams and Oklahoma’s Cody Ford.

Jacksonville’s offensive line fell apart last season when Cam Robinson went down with a torn ACL. The addition of Taylor, along with getting Robinson back healthy, would give the Jaguars a pair of bookend tackles to build around.
