4. DK Metcalf is picked before AJ Brown, but both go in first round

The two Ole Miss wide receivers make for an interesting look inside the mind of NFL teams. Teams that value the production and proven football IQ will be all over AJ Brown. He was the most dominant player in an explosive Ole Miss offense and has all the requisite skills to be a top-flight receiver on the next level.

Then there’s DK Metcalf. He doesn’t have the tape to warrant a Day 1 selection, but his physical stature and measurables are off the chart. If a team could design their perfect wide receiver, it might look a bit more like Metcalf than Brown.

Both players have their plusses and minuses. Ultimately, the allure of “fixing” Metcalf’s production issues will trump the dearth of highlight reel plays from Brown. Whether that’s a correct assessment remains to be seen, but don’t expect either of these players to be on the board when Day 2 begins on Friday.

If that does happen, they’ll be the first pair of wide receiver teammate to be selected in the first round together since 2007.
