The Packers were aggressive this offseason, spending big money in free agency as they look to get back to NFC contention and take advantage of their remaining Super Bowl window with Aaron Rodgers under center. It was surprising to see them neglect their need to add more receiving help for Rodgers on the outside, though.

Green Bay shored up their defense and offensive line with their first three picks before selecting Texas A&M tight end Jace Sternberger to give Rodgers another weapon. They didn’t draft a single wide receiver, which is one of the positions most mocks had them selecting with one of their early picks.

That could change in next year’s draft, especially if the Packers make the leap up the standings that I’m expecting them to. They might want to add a luxury weapon here, and Alabama’s Henry Ruggs III would be an outstanding fit alongside Aaron Rodgers.

Ruggs ran a 4.25 40-yard-dash at Alabama’s junior pro day, a number that he actually thinks he’ll be able to top. Jerry Jeudy received the majority of the praise last season, but there are some who believe Ruggs might ultimately be Alabama’s best pro receiver on the current roster.

He caught 46 passes for 741 yards and 11 touchdowns as a sophomore. He’s a big play threat, capable of taking the top off of defenses down the field as well as catching short passes and then making a big play with the ball in his hands.
