If the Buccaneers are picking here, then things undoubtedly went wrong in Bruce Arians’s first season as the head coach, and they could be looking to make a quarterback change. Tampa Bay picked up the fifth year option on Jameis Winston, but he’ll need a strong season or he could be elsewhere in 2020.
If that’s the case, then the Bucs will be in the market for a young quarterback to hand the keys to. Another quality season in Athens could lead to him declaring for the draft early, though I don’t think he’s as likely to make the jump as Tagovailoa.
Fromm has been remarkably efficient in his two seasons as the Georgia starting quarterback and has come so close to leading the Bulldogs to the mountaintop. He played well in both losses to Alabama over the last two seasons, and nearly single-handily led Georgia to the win in the SEC Championship last season.
Fromm has good touch on his deep balls and is an accurate passer at all levels of the field. He completed 67% of his passes last season with 30 touchdowns to only six interceptions.
Fromm’s presence in Athens has Georgia as one of the primary contenders for the College Football Playoff in 2019. Georgia has a lot of talent surrounding him, and he could ultimately lead Georgia over the top and to a national championship for the first time since 1980.
