How many teams in college football have two former national coach of the year award winners as their offensive and defensive coordinators? I’d wager no other school in the country has that luxury.

Head coach Matt Luke checked his ego at the door when he hired Rich Rodriguez as offensive coordinator and Mike MacIntyre as defensive coordinator. Many head coaches would not bring in coordinators that are more qualified for the job that they have themselves, but Luke did.

Luke put Ole Miss ahead of himself and did what was right for the program.

This staff is eons above where it was a year ago just because of Rodriguez and MacIntyre. Both bring proven experience and Ole Miss needed that. MacIntyre will have to work hard to shape of the defense but he has the pieces to do it.

It should be a fun season if not only for having these two coaches and just seeing what they can do for this team.
