Usually when a player makes a position change, it’s his head coach’s doing. Not in the case of sophomore linebacker LC Greenwood who has gone from receiver buried on the depth chart to linebacker, requesting Mike Gundy make the move for him this spring.

It’s a tough transition for any player, but Greenwood played linebacker at the high school level and it’s all about shaking off the rust. Gundy stated that he will know more about Greenwood’s progress this fall, but for now, he’s just learning the plays and getting acclimated with the defense.

Not many former four-star receivers request a position change to the other side of the ball, but that’s how confident this kid is that he can succeed anywhere on the field.

This position change is going to benefit him as well as the Cowboys because it’ll get him onto the field to utilize his skillset and it’s going to give Oklahoma State another option on defense — an athletic linebacker with a wide range of skills.
