SEC football teams always tear each other apart during the regular season with their grueling schedule. What are the big 2019 SEC games?
As summer rolls by, we are getting closer and closer to the start of the college football season. Depth charts are being finalized, talking points are being discussed, and preparation for the regular season builds up every day.
As always, the SEC is at the forefront of all college football talk. With Alabama, LSU, and Georgia all in the hunt for a playoff position, the SEC regular season will help set the college landscape. Outside of the top three, teams like Texas A&M, Auburn and Florida are all looking to earn a name for themselves and become relevant in the conference again. This will cause a lot of upsets in the regular season.
Outside of the big names, teams like Kentucky and South Carolina are still looking to become relevant as well. Kentucky managed to start this process with an upset of Florida last season, and there is hope that they can repeat despite losing Benny Snell on offense and Josh Allen on defense.
Now, we always know about the games games within each division that happen every year. Georgia has to play Florida. Alabama has to play LSU. The Iron Bowl always happens, along with the Egg Bowl and other rivalry games. However, what really shakes up the season is what happens in the games across the divisional lines. The overall strength of a schedule depends on who a team has to play from the other division.
Some of these games happen every year as rivalries. Some are just for this season. No matter the repetition, these games will help define the success or failure of these teams for 2019.
