Missouri Tigers: Get Kelly Bryant back on top
Let’s be honest. This is the season of Kelly Bryant for the Missouri Tigers. Their success will rest on the shoulders of Bryant, the transfer quarterback from Clemson. He has leadership experience, helping lead the Tigers to the College Football Semifinal two seasons ago.
I still think Bryant has the potential to be a top quarterback in the conference. He’s a mobile threat, and he has more experience than most in the SEC. I’m not going to hold it against him for transferring. It’s not his fault that Clemson brought in Trevor Lawrence, one of the top quarterbacks in the country.
Missouri was a middle of the road team last year, going 8-5 and 4-4 in SEC play. They relied on Drew Lock, and that’s what will happen with Bryant. Of course, Lock was more of a passing threat as opposed to Bryant, a quarterback who loves to use his legs to gain yards.
The Tigers have plenty of winnable games this year, both in and out of the conference. Their toughest game outside of SEC play will be when they have to face West Virginia, a quality team that will be without their head coach and starting quarterback from last season.
In the SEC, Missouri has a great chance to beat teams like Tennessee, Arkansas, Ole Miss, and Vanderbilt. Without having to play a top-three team in the SEC West, Missouri has a great chance to get Bryant back into the national spotlight.
