2. Braiden McGregor, 4-star DE

I’m not going to lie. This is the least likely recruit for Notre Dame to land. That being said, this isn’t an article on the most likely recruits for the Irish to get. Braiden McGregor has a chance of choosing Notre Dame, so they make the list.

McGregor will actually make his commitment on May 24, so Notre Dame won’t have to wait long to see if they can land him. If he doesn’t choose Notre Dame, he will most likely choose Michigan. This will go a long way in determining where Notre Dame’s class ranks in the nation when it’s all said and done.

McGregor lives in Michigan, so they will naturally have the edge over the Irish in that regard. However, you can’t count out the Irish. He will fill a need at defensive end, a position where most of Notre Dame’s players are seniors. McGregor would likely compete for early playing time.

This will be the recruit that fans need to keep up with. I honestly don’t expect him to choose the Irish, but it would be great for them if he does. He is talented, he fills a need, and it would be an overall good fit for both parties. Notre Dame can survive without him, but McGregor is a game-changer.

We will simply have to wait and see if McGregor chooses Michigan or Notre Dame. Even if he commits to Michigan, it wouldn’t surprise me if Notre Dame tried to flip his commitment by the time comes for him to officially sign.
