After spending a semester at Texas, could USC football be close to landing Bru McCoy yet again? Rumors are circulating that he’s weighing his options.

Before enrolling early for his freshman season with USC, Bru McCoy had a change of heart. He decided to switch alliances and sign with Texas, enrolling early with the Longhorns, giving Tom Herman a top-tier five-star wide receiver from Santa Ana, Calif.

McCoy stands 6-2 and weighs 205 pounds and he’s been one of the most highly sought-after receivers in the country.

But according to sources of 247Sports, McCoy has been weighing his transfer options after just one semester in Austin and that could mean a return to USC. Yes, after he shut the door on the Trojans at the last minute, getting out of his letter of intent, he could be reuniting with Clay Helton and Co.

Would the Trojans welcome him back with open arms? Absolutely.

Any momentum Helton can get at this point, he’ll take. He caught a lot of flak for losing McCoy at the last minute to Texas, so if he was able to bring him back, it’d be a huge win.

The Trojans could use some good news after talking about the quarterback competition and a bowl-less 2018 season with Helton on the hot seat. This is exactly what he program could use right now, but nothing is set in stone.

McCoy was ranked the No. 9 recruit in the 2019 class and the No. 1 athlete, according to 247Sports, and it’s shocking to see him not completely happy with Texas.

This could be a big blow to Herman and the Longhorns, but Helton would benefit big time. McCoy could enter the transfer portal and immediately improve the Trojan offense.
