1. Once at full strength, how much better will secondary be?

Throughout last season, the biggest struggle for Texas A&M was its secondary and it honestly wasn’t close. If teams were going to gash this defense, it was going to be through the air because the run defense wasn’t giving up much of anything. This unit was the top of the league in passing touchdowns allowed in 2018.  So now, they are the big focus of questions for the upcoming season.

We saw a bit of improvement during the spring game, but this is a unit that is not yet complete and is working to put themselves back together again. The stars of the secondary are still in question as honestly I have no idea who will step up in the coming season.

That is really where the question comes into play: Once this unit gets all of its freshman and transfer additions, how much better will it be?

Mike Elko serves as the defensive coordinator as well as the coach for defensive backs, so this secondary will be his baby, so to speak, and the players themselves seem pretty confident about the upcoming year, but all we can do is wait and see.
