Clemson Football: 5 players trending up after spring 2019
Amari Rodgers was out this spring due to a torn ACL but the Clemson receiving corps proved that they’re absolutely loaded.
Sure, everyone knows about Justyn Ross and Tee Higgins who combined for over 100 catches with nearly 2,000 yards and 21 touchdowns a season ago and Rodgers was third on the team with 55 catches for 575 yards and four scores, but what people don’t realize is that the Tigers have two up-and-comers as freshmen, one of them being Frank Ladson Jr.
The former four-star receiver from Miami, Fla., came to Clemson as the No. 39 recruit in the nation, enrolling early in the spring semester and impressing for the first few months on campus.
Ladson Jr. receoved high praise all spring long and finished it off with a big performance in the scrimmage, catching five passes for 102 yards. It seems likely that the 6-foot-3, 190-pound receiver will see some immediate playing time, especially if Rodgers isn’t back to 100 percent.
