2. UConn Huskies

UConn’s only victory last season came against FCS Rhode Island and only by seven points in a shootout. The Huskies very well could go winless in the 2019 season.

What do the Huskies have to do to avoid posting a donut in the win column this season? For starters, the defense must show a pulse. It cannot possibly be worse than it was last season. The Huskies defense might as well not have been on the field, allowing 617 yards and over 50 points per game. They only produced 11 turnovers on the season so new defensive coordinator Lou Spanos has his work cut out for him.

The schedule is not favorable. If UConn does not win its opener against Wagner, it will be a long stretch to find another winnable game, which is likely UMass in late October. The Huskies get both Illinois and Indiana in non conference games followed by back to back games against UCF and South Florida. They get Houston at home, but need to travel to Cincinnati and Temple. There just not a whole lot of winnable games on their schedule.
