Texas A&M Football: 5 post-spring bold predictions for 2019

2. Offense won’t miss a beat, despite losing big names
The Texas A&M offense lost four big names: Center Erik McCoy, guard Keaton Sutherland, running back Trayveon Williams and tight end Jace Sternberger. All four were big parts of the 2018 offensive attack.
Williams put forth 1,760 yards and 18 touchdowns on the year, Jace Sternberger added 10 touchdowns of his own and Erik McCoy allowed just one sack while at Texas A&M. Sutherland was a constant on the line and did exactly what was expected of him, never missing a beat. Those four made contributions that many have decided are irreplaceable, but that is just not the case.
The offensive line is just a big question mark, but with a new coach they seem to be headed in the right direction. There are holes to fill, but the roster shows plenty of options to fill them.
In the running back spot, Jashaun Corbin seems to have filled the hole pretty quickly and effectively — at least with what we saw in the 2018 season as he sat behind Williams. If Corbin isn’t able to carry the freight on his own, there is plenty of depth to fill that spot and replace the production of Williams.
There are two tight ends to replace Sternberger — Baylor Cupp and Glenn Beal. Both have the ability to put together strong seasons, but we will likely see both of them — along with the big group of wide outs — as this team looks to keep up the offensive production and in my opinion, with everyone around, they won’t miss a beat.
