4. LSU Tigers
It is clear that joining the SEC is high on the priority list for Zach Evans. It’s not necessarily the one thing that will make his decision for him, but it is certainly part of the equation. However, I wouldn’t put LSU on the same level as Georgia and Alabama. In my eyes, they are the worst SEC option on his list.
Now, that doesn’t mean that LSU is a bad option. He might fall in love with Ed Orgeron and the culture in Baton Rouge. Orgeron has proven to be a good recruiter for the Tigers, and players certainly seem to rally around him.
One thing working against LSU is the fact that they aren’t necessarily known to be a priority destination for running backs. They are usually run-centric, but they haven’t had as many stars as Alabama or Georgia. Outside of Leonard Fournette, LSU hasn’t had players like Nick Chubb, D’Andre Swift, and Sony Michel for Georgia or Derrick Henry, Josh Jacobs, and Kenyan Drake for Alabama.
However, there is no doubt that LSU deserves serious consideration as a landing spot. It’s not like the Tigers are a bad team. Alabama and Georgia don’t get every top prospect. LSU has one of the best recruiting classes for 2020, and they certainly believe they can land Zach Evans. With a player that hasn’t given many hints as to where he’s going to go, I think LSU is certainly in the mix.
