4. Texas A&M Aggies vs. Clemson Tigers (Week 2)

Where: Clemson, S.C.

These two teams gave us a very entertaining game last season where Clemson was almost upset by the Aggies. Of course, that was back when Kelly Bryant was still stealing reps from Trevor Lawrence. This season, the Aggies will have to find a way to stop Lawrence for four full quarters.

Texas A&M will face Kellen Mond, who got 430 passing yards and three touchdowns against the Tigers last season. Of course, things will be a lot different in 2019. The game will be in Clemson, which is a huge boost for the Tigers. Also, Clemson’s offense will presumably be firing on all cylinders. They are returning most of their talent on that side of the ball, and they are expected to be better than they were last year.

The biggest concern for Clemson is how they will handle replacing so many talented defenders. They recruit and develop talent well, but they will basically have to replace their entire defensive line. This early in the season, this will still be a question mark for Clemson.

For the Aggies, expectations are high in Jimbo Fisher’s second season. They want to certainly take steps in the right direction, and a huge upset against Clemson would certainly be a significant step.

Also, this game might have some say in which team is first overall in the CFP rankings. Both the Tide and the Tigers will be playing Texas A&M this season, so similar opponents like these might end up breaking the tie for the debate between Alabama and Clemson.
