Running Back
Starter: Jashaun Corbin
Backup: Vernon Jackson OR Cordarrian Richardson OR Jacob Kibodi OR Deneric Prince
Simply put, heading into spring practice and even now, Jashaun Corbin is the starter at running back. Mr. 100 Yard Kick Off Return has solidified that spot and I don’t see anyone taking that away from him. However, you will see the other guys on the field — except maybe Vernon Jackson who suffered a neck injury during spring practice that could be career ending.
With some injuries, whether minor or otherwise, during the spring, many guys got to shine during the spring game and now there is a toss up for that second running back spot. Look for it to be a battle throughout the season because this is going to be a fun one.
Fullback
Starter: Ben Miles
Backup: Javonte Kemp OR Justin Mellbruch
Cullen Gillaspia leaving for the NFL has shaken up this position and I am telling you now that no one will be able to replace him no matter what. By seniority, Ben Miles would be the guy to go with, but honestly we didn’t see much in the spring game to confirm one way or the other. We will just have to wait and see.
