Louisiana-Monroe was one of those rare six-win teams that didn’t earn a bowl bid last season and while that’s disappointing, Matt Viator’s team has 16 starters returning, so there’s an opportunity to reach 7-8 wins, but many are predicting another swing and a miss.

There are winnable games all over the Warhawks’ schedule, but Iowa State is not one of them.

The Cyclones are going to come into this one off an emotional win over Iowa which is usually a recipe for disaster against teams that can be overlooked with ease, but Matt Campbell won’t let that happen. No post-Iowa win hangover for the Cyclones as they’ll take care of the Warhawks, putting this game away by halftime.

Brock Purdy will pass for over 250 yards in the first half while Breece Hall has his coming out game in the backfield for the Cyclones, taking over for Kene Nwangwu in the second half and rushing for 150 yards of his own.

Let’s face it, the Warhawks don’t stand a chance here.

Final Score: ULM 10, Iowa State 42 (3-0)
