2. Jimbo Fisher, Texas A&M
The $75 million man, the Aggies had to have liked what they saw in year one of their investment into Jimbo Fisher as head coach. The Aggies actually finished second in a strong SEC West, winning the tie breaking game against LSU in an instant classic, seven overtime victory.
Fisher built a strong competitor at A&M, who felt like it needed a fresh start away from Kevin Sumlin. Their offense finished No. 19 in the country in points per game, and the improvements in sophomore Kellen Mond saw the offense really humming to end the season, capping it off with a 52-13 bowl win against NC State.
I was skeptical of Fisher’s big money hire at first, but he has brought in two great recruiting classes, and seems to have A&M right in the middle of an already loaded SEC West.
