Arkansas has much better options in 2019

The quarterbacks that played for Arkansas in 2018 all showed glimpses and would have probably shown improvement as well if they were on the 2019 team.

With that said, the fan base has a lot to look forward as both quarterback candidates for this year’s Arkansas team should be a step up from last year’s play with the potential to become successful quarterbacks in the toughest conference in college football as of right now.

Both Ben Hicks and Nick Starkel have a lot of things to like and I expect the competition to be a close one.

Three out of Arkansas’ first four games are against Portland State, Colorado State and San Jose State (Ole Miss in Week 2). Besides the tough game against Ole Miss, the schedule should give Arkansas some time to see both quarterbacks in live games and help make their decision moving forward before they move into the heart of their SEC schedule.

Regardless if it’s Starkel or Hicks who gets the majority of snaps for the Razorbacks, the improved play will help get Arkansas back in the contention of a bowl appearance.
