AJ Dillon is an impressive back, but there’s more to his game than that. The past two seasons, he has been the team’s bell cow. He is proven, and he will be a key for success in 2019 for Boston College.

Dillon’s numbers dipped last season due to injuries holding him to only 10 games.

If he manages to stay healthy, he will get close to the 300 carries he got as a freshman. He hasn’t necessarily grown in terms of production, though, as he is going to get you somewhere around 5.0 yards a carry. To get 10,00 yards, he is going to need somewhere around 200 touches. With this team, he should be able to do so, and this will get him close to double-digit touchdowns.

One thing I would love to see added to Dillon’s game is the ability to catch out of the backfield. The game is growing where running backs need to be more of a dual threat, and Dillon appears to be one-dimensional.

J.K. Dobbins has been the star at running back ever since he stepped onto campus at Ohio State.

As a junior, this will likely be his last chance to achieve his goals in college before declaring for the draft. Dobbins dropped significantly from his freshman to sophomore year, going from 1,403 rushing yards to 1,053. This is despite the fact that he got over 30 more carries last year. If he can get back to his freshman form, he can be something really special for Ohio State.

With Justin Fields as the quarterback, the team’s offense will look more like what it did with J.T. Barrett. Fields is a mobile threat, whereas Haskins last year stayed in the pocket and threw a surprising number of passes.

Expect Dobbins to grow as a back and get over 1,000 yards for his third straight season with the Buckeyes.
