8. Cam Akers, Florida State

The 2018 season was a huge letdown for Cam Akers, as well as Florida State as a whole. After a record breaking freshman year, in which Akers rushed for 1,025 yards and seven touchdowns, he experienced a sophomore slump. He had 706 yards, six touchdowns and 4.4 yards per carry which was not the stat line many in Tallahassee expected.

The Florida State offensive line was historically bad in 2018, however. If the unit shows even a little improvement, Akers is talented enough to make a lot happen on his own.

Kendal Briles now runs the Seminole offense, and this could mean more throwing to Akers. He caught 23 balls in 2018, and that number will likely increase in 2019.

If this offense can gel this year, Akers may finally recognize his high-end potential.
