1. Mack Wilson

When you have so many players drafted in the first round, it might be weird to have someone drafted on day three as the player you will miss the most. However, things are different in this case. Mack Wilson was incredibly talented, and he filled a need for the Tide at inside linebacker.

Linebacker depth is easily the biggest question mark on this Alabama defense. They have arguably the best linebacker in college football with Dylan Moses, but there are questions after him. In Alabama’s defensive scheme, two inside linebackers is crucial. Although many believe that Moses will be better than Wilson at the Mike linebacker position, the other position will be where the Tide is weak.

Alabama isn’t certain as to who will start the first game. Ale Kaho has all the potential in the world, but personal issues off the field have held him back. You also have Josh McMillon, the starter during the spring game. Others in contention are Shane Lee and Markail Benton. Whoever it is, it will take some time to get back to where they were last year at the position.

I’m not saying that none of these players have what it takes to start. There will just be a gap from last year to this year at the position. Maybe having Moses in place of Wilson will make up for the issues on the back end, but that is yet to be seen.
