Big Ten Football: 5 storylines to follow at 2019 Big Ten Media Days
4. A Husker resurgence
Nebraska has been the buzz of the Big Ten West throughout the offseason. Which is ironic for a team that’s coming off back-to-back 4-8 campaigns.
Nebraska was penalty-plagued, turnover-prone and finished 12th in the league in scoring, rushing and total defense last season. However, Scott Frost did wonders for UCF in his second year on the job and Husker fans are hoping he’ll deliver the same results for his alma mater. It doesn’t hurt that Nebraska has a game-breaking, true-sophomore quarterback in Adrian Martinez.
The Huskers have momentum after winning four of their last six games and Frost signed his second-straight top-20 recruiting class this past February.
The cherry on top is the Huskers’ favorable schedule. All of Nebraska’s big games will be inside the Sea of Red. Depth might be an issue, but with a couple breaks and if everyone stays healthy, Nebraska has a chance to reach 10 wins for the first time since 2012.
