Chris Klieman, Kansas State

New head coach Chris Klieman opened his remarks by talking about the players that he brought to media days and talked about how excited he was to be at Kansas State and to start the season. He also mentioned how big the challenge is this year in learning a football team after only 15 practices but having 24 seniors helps.

Klieman talked about how he does not put a lot of stock in preseason polls and that he just attacks each day the same. He mentioned how he sees the hunger in the eyes of his players and a feeling they let some games get away in 2018. He also talked about the key to strong play in the trenches is development and the strength and conditioning program.

Lastly, he was asked about connecting with Kansas State fans and Klieman talked about being a people person and wanting to show off the Wildcat brand.

Recruiting differences at Kansas State compared to the FCS were a hot topic and he said that he wants to have style of football that gets his playmaker the ball and also mentioned that early playing time is a selling point in recruiting.
