12. Bowling Green Falcons (Oct. 5 — Notre Dame, Ind.)

This game against Bowling Green is in the middle of three straight games at home. This chunk of the schedule between Michigan and Georgia is a bit of a lull, with their easiest opponent being the Falcons.

Their starting quarterback last season had a decent year, but a lot of it had to do with the success of Scott Miller at wide receiver, a player who got over 1,000 yards. Miller was a senior, so the team will have to figure out the offense without him. That quarterback also transferred to West Virginia. Without their star duo, the offense will need time to adjust.

I realize you never want to overlook an opponent, but Notre Dame will mostly be looking to avoid injuries in this game. Every team plays a couple of easier opponents, whether they are FCS teams or simply outside of the Power Five. This is one of those games for Notre Dame.

Notre Dame will prepare for the Falcons just like any other opponent, but this should not be a struggle by any stretch of the imagination. This will be one of those games that the freshmen who are expected to redshirt will get to play. Let’s just hope no one gets injured playing this game.
