Maryland underwent the worst kind of controversy prior to last season, and ultimately fired head coach DJ Durkin. To replace him, they settled on Mike Locksley. The new coach has a career record of 3-31. He also allegedly assaulted an assistant during his time at New Mexico. The brass in College Park decided on Locksley to stabilize the program, but this regime certainly has its doubters.

There’s a new starting quarterback in Josh Jackson, so the running game will likely be leaned on by offensive coordinator Scottie Montgomery. This is good news for Anthony McFarland, who will look to build on his 1,034 yards and four scores from a year ago.

Prediction: Win (8-1, 5-1)

This team went 5-7 a year ago, and there aren’t many signs that point to drastic improvement. The Buckeyes are coming off a bye, so the Terrapins will meet a completely fresh opponent. There is definitely potential for this matchup to get ugly.
