Things are looking up in Lincoln. In 2018, Scott Frost took over a program that had gone 4-8 the previous year. Frost duplicated that record, but in more impressive fashion. The Huskers scored a late-season win over Michigan State, and lost a close game to Ohio State by a five-point margin.

In 2019, reality will start to catch up to the potential of Frost’s team. Adrian Martinez, the sophomore quarterback, is getting Heisman hype as the season approaches. He has a couple of exciting weapons outside in JD Spielman and freshman phenom Wan’Dale Robinson. The defense features seven fifth-year seniors, and several more experienced juniors.

This trip to Lincoln could be the first real test for Ryan Day in 2019.

Prediction: Loss (4-1, 1-1)

The Buckeyes, in recent years, have a habit of losing one game they shouldn’t. On paper, they are a better team than Nebraska. However, the Huskers will certainly be better than the Purdue, Northwestern, or Virginia Tech teams that have dealt out the upsets.

The atmosphere in Lincoln will be absolutely electric for this early-season matchup. Don’t be shocked if the Huskers can take advantage of that and pull this one off.
