Big Ten: Peyton Ramsey, Indiana

Indiana quarterback Peyton Ramsey is in a quarterback competition right now, but he was the starter last year as a sophomore and got significant playing time as a freshman in 2017.

More from College Football News

In both 2017 and 2018 Indiana went 5-7, but lost several close games that if a few plays went their way they would have seen themselves in bowl games both years. Ramsey has completed over 65 percent of his passes in both seasons and is one of the more accurate quarterbacks returning in the Big Ten.

In Ramsey’s career at Indiana, he has thrown for over 4,000 yards, 29 touchdowns and 18 interceptions. He has also tacked on over 500 yards on the ground with seven rushing scores, showing the ability to use his legs when he needs to and catching the defense off guard.

If he wins the job and cuts down on his interceptions this year, Indiana could finally get over the hump and come out on top in some of those close games. Regardless if he wins the competition by Week 1 or not, he will see time on the field.
