Arkansas: Ben Hicks, QB

Ben Hicks could end up being the most impactful transfer in the SEC this year. For a team that won only two games last season, getting a seasoned, experienced quarterback dropped in your lap is the best thing you could ask for.

Hicks started for three seasons at SMU, and spent time in the Chad Morris offense. In those three years, he threw for 9,081 yards, 71 touchdowns, and 34 interceptions.

An example of his impact is the pivotal Week 2 matchup with Ole Miss. In a game that will likely become a shootout, Hicks’ chances of winning that kind of game are exponentially higher than Ty Storey and Cole Kelley.

This offense was abysmal in 2018. An improved quarterback will be playing behind a healthy, improved line this season. Getting to New York may be an uphill, but Hicks may end up being one of the most important players to his team in 2019.
