South Carolina: Bryan Edwards, WR

Jake Bentley, the quarterback, certainly has the volume of stats to be the name on this list, but it is his turnovers that disqualify him. The threw 14 interceptions a year ago, over half his touchdown number.

However, wideout Bryan Edwards could be poised for a big year. His 2018 campaign was strong, with 846 yards and seven touchdowns, but he had to share targets with Deebo Samuel. No receiver will get all the targets, but Samuel was a legitimate weapon, so Edwards certainly lost targets.

Shi Smith will be the number two receiver, but Edwards role as the first option is definite. His targets should increase greatly in 2019. As Bentley looks to decrease turnovers and trust in his reliable options, that is another good sign for Edwards.

The Gamecocks play the toughest schedule in the country, so it’s likely that a trailing offense will be throwing the ball a lot this season.

All signs point to a huge year for the senior wideout.
