Notre Dame’s second game comes after a Week 2 bye. Unfortunately, this bye week comes at a time for the Irish that is completely unnecessary, given that the New Mexico Lobos should not be a particularly tough opponent and the game is in South Bend.

Regardless of the circumstances, the Irish will have at least two weeks to work on themselves and feel comfortable heading into the rest of the season when they face tougher opponents. In this case, the very next week the Irish will have to travel south to take on the Georgia Bulldogs.

Despite the possibility of upset always existing on a Saturday, the Irish will spend a great deal of time during their bye week, and even partly during the New Mexico week, to get ready for Georgia.

Oh yes, the prediction for how badly Notre Dame will beat New Mexico — with Coach Kelly focusing up on games ahead, the Lobos should score at least a few times.

Final: New Mexico 14, Notre Dame 48 (2-0)
