We hyped up the Georgia game earlier and pronounced that it would be one of the biggest factors in Notre Dame’s chances to make the College Football Playoff. Well, yes it is. However, even if the Irish win against the Bulldogs, Michigan will be an incredibly tough opponent.

The Wolverines are actually predicted to win the Big Ten. Although, we all know history would tell us that isn’t very likely.

In 2018, Notre Dame was able to sneak away with a 24-17 win in their first game of the season. The first game is always a toss-up when top teams play each other because there are simply so many kinks to be worked out and nerves are raging. Furthermore, the game was played in South Bend, giving the Irish an incredible advantage.

This year, Notre Dame will be traveling to Ann Arbor and the game is much later in the season. Jim Harbaugh will be on the hot seat this season which does not help Notre Dame’s chances. All signs point to a Michigan win.

Yet, there is one aspect we have not mentioned. The Irish are coming off of a bye week. Michigan will be returning from a road trip to Penn State. Therefore, the tables are evened. In an overtime win, Notre Dame pulls it out.

Final: Notre Dame 28, Michigan 27 (6-1)
