Florida State will open up against one of the top programs from the Group of Five conferences and the top team from the Mountain West. Boise State is used to playing big time opponents from the Power Five conferences as they seem to do so every year. They are 6-5 against Power Five schools over the last five years with wins against Washington and Washington State, to name a few.

While Boise State will be breaking in a new quarterback, running back and developing new go-to wide receivers, they should still be the favorites to win the Mountain West. After a disappointing year like 2018, I don’t expect Florida State to over look the Broncos and they should come out wanting to make a statement that the 2018 season was a fluke.

Florida State catches Boise State at the perfect time as I think Boise State’s chances of winning would be higher if they played later in the year. Florida State will come out with something to prove and they will take care of the Broncos in a game where they win comfortably but is competitive the whole time.

Final Score: Boise State 17, Florida State 30 (1-0)
