NC State has been a consistent program the past five years as they have had win totals of eight, seven, seven, nine and nine, respectively. Florida State is 3-2 against NC State during that time period.

Last year, NC State and future NFL quarterback Ryan Finley beat Florida State 47-28. NC State loses a lot of talent from last year’s team and will be trying to avoid having a “down” season.

First and foremost, the Wolfpack will need to replace their former star quarterback who is now in the NFL. They also lose their top two receivers from last year, their No. 1 rusher as well as their leading tackler from 2018.

With this being game five of the regular season, I expect Florida State’s offense to really find its rhythm by now, but NC State will have a solid defense that keeps them in the game. This will be another close game and a confidence builder for Florida State as they come away with a win, proving to themselves that they really are improved from 2018.

Final Score: NC State 20, Florida State 28 (4-1, 2-1)
